8. Setting Up Master Pages, Libraries, and Layers

WITH THE FOUNDATIONAL FRAMEWORK IN PLACE, THE NEXT STEP IS TO SET UP master pages, object libraries, and layers. Each of these tools serves a specific function yet work together to enhance the organization of a template and facilitate productivity.

Master pages commonly contain a layout grid, any recurring design elements, and placeholder frames. By using master pages, you can create a consistent layout throughout the pages in a publication. You can also automate layout changes, since any modification you make to a master page is automatically reflected on all the pages that have that master page applied.
