Master Pages

Master pages are at the core of every template. They lay out the necessary groundwork to achieve a high level of consistency and productivity. By default, every InDesign document has at least one master page, though it is possible to create more as the template requires.

A master page is like a background that you can easily apply to many pages. When you place an object on a master page, it automatically appears on all the pages that have that master applied. If you make a change to a master page object, that change is instantly applied throughout its associated pages. This eliminates the need for manual repetitive page formatting and reduces the possibility for error.
