The rate of computer and computer related advances never ceases to amaze me. Rewind five years to February of 1999. The fastest Intel processor was the PIII 500 while AMD’s groundbreaking Athlon processor was 4 months from introduction. The fastest processors were barely able to playback MPEG-2 video without hardware assist, and DV camcorders were just beginning to catch the eye of consumers.
