Now we are into the really exciting bit – spotting talent and helping people to grow. Maurice Purslow works for Andrew Rothesay at Boehringer Ingelheim now, but his first contact was as his mentor – in fact, he mentored Andrew into his present role. When Andrew was promoted, Maurice still acted as his mentor alongside becoming his direct report: ‘It’s wonderful to be managed by him now – he still asks for my opinion and vice versa.’
