Configuring the Preferred Search Center for Personal Sites

A personal site is its own site collection and does not warrant its own Search Center, as other site collections sometimes do. For personal sites, it is more desirable to create a Search Center that is shared across all personal sites. This could be the same Search Center as the one created for the typical intranet portal. It could also be a dedicated Search Center created on the same Web application hosting the personal sites. You will in any case need to tell SharePoint where the Search Center is.
