Symbian Acknowledgments

Satu and I would like to thank Ivan wholeheartedly for the time, care and attention he's put into this book. When we started this book project, before Nokia's acquisition of Symbian and open-sourcing of the operating system was announced, we had no idea of how prescient the Persistent Data Services team were in their choice of an open code base. However, we quickly understood that we were working with a remarkable team, who took to writing a book as enthusiastically and skillfully as they tackled their 'day jobs'.

We'd like to thank everyone who authored, reviewed or otherwise gave their support to the book project. The result is a solid, one-of-a-kind book that complements the Symbian SQL source code, which you can now access at developer.symbian.org.

Apart from the book, another bonus of the work on this project has been that Ivan has now joined Satu and me in the Symbian Foundation. We are pleased to be able to welcome him to the team, as an author as well as a technical expert. I have no doubt that – once he's caught up on the sleep he sacrificed on this book – he'll be hard at work on another project to share his expertise with fellow Symbian developers. Thanks, Ivan!
