Summary
The Solaris Management Console provides a collection of tools to facilitate server administration. SMC provides the system administrator with easy-to-use, Java-based GUI tools for managing processes, users, local and NFS file systems, disk partitions, serial ports, and processes from anywhere. In addition, SMC provides the capability to delegate administrative tasks to other users without giving them access to the superuser account.
Spend some time becoming familiar with the tools available in SMC. Whenever you are in the GUI, you can click the Help button to obtain more information. You’ll find the SMC tools to perform the various system administration tasks described throughout this book.
