In this chapter, I’ll expand on the commands described in Chapter 1, “Fundamental Commands for Managing Files and Getting Help,” and will describe some of the advanced utilities you can use for managing your data and files. This chapter will describe:
Using links
Using the find command to locate files
Using grep and egrep to filter and format data
Formatting and manipulating data using the awk, tr, diff, uniq, cut, paste, and unix2dos utilities
