From Photoshop to Illustrator

You can actually move Photoshop data into Illustrator in three ways:

  • Edit, Paste. The easiest way to move a small bitmap from Photoshop into Illustrator is to choose Select, All (Ctrl()+A) in Photoshop, copy the selection, and then switch to Illustrator and choose Edit, Paste. Illustrator is not an OLE server or client, so Paste Special is not an option.

  • File, Place. To import larger bitmaps from Photoshop to Illustrator, use the File, Place command. As with Quark, your best bet is to use TIFF as the import file format (you need to make sure alpha channels have been stripped from the document if you don't want masking ...
