Rotating the Template

Because we will use 0% of the original poster in our re-creation, straightening out the poster is okay, thus losing a little of the original poster detail. Let's fix the poster now:

Straightening Out the Poster

1.
Open the SeeAmerica.tif poster from the Examples/Chap19 folder on the companion CD.
2.
Zoom out so you can see the poster from edge to edge.
3.
With the Rectangular Marquee tool, select the poster out of the background, with about 1/4" around the edges to spare.
4.
Right-click (Macintosh: hold Ctrl and click) and choose Layer Via Cut from the context menu. Delete the Background layer.
