Color Correction

Now that the hands have been selected from the Background layer and there are separate copies of the selection, it's time to get down to some basic color correction techniques:

Variations

Make sure the Warm Hand layer is the active layer. Then choose Image, Adjustments, Variations.

Follow the guide and mind your steps! Check the Midtones option; then click once on More Yellow, once on Lighter, once on More Red, and once on Lighter.

Now check the Highlights option, and click once on Darker. Finally, check the Shadows option, and click once on More Cyan (see Figure 10.4). Click on OK. On the Layers palette, set the blending mode for the Warm Hand layer to Color.
