What Exactly Is a Recipient?

We have been throwing around the term "recipient" quite loosely, and before we go any further, we need to define what we mean by this term. First, you may have noticed that we have gone to great lengths in this chapter to avoid using the word "person" when discussing recipients. We have, however, used the word "entities" since it can be applied to animate and inanimate objects, to single individuals as well as groups of individuals. There was good reasons for this avoidance.   • A piece of software

  • A conference room
