This chapter deals with the administrative tasks that are of great importance on a Linux system. Other chapters have discussed Linux installation and maintenance, user administration, and some of the tools that would be used on a weekly basis by a system administrator.

This chapter covers some of the deep technical administrative chores such as backup and recovery, security, and file maintenance.
