For those who are not familiar with what a proxy server is, the easiest way of explaining the function of a proxy server is using the definition of the word proxy. Proxy means to act on behalf of another. Therefore, a proxy server is a server that acts on the behalf of another server. For example, instead of providing direct access to your Citrix MetaFrame servers from the Internet or from your internal network, you can place a proxy server in between.
