Although three-tier software solutions have mainly been discussed so far, part of any three-tier solution is choosing what hardware to run the Tier 3 client on. Thin Client Terminals
Thin client terminals represent the next step in the evolution of the old green-screen terminal. Although several varieties of thin client terminals are available today, most can run Windows applications remotely on a Terminal Server using a preloaded Microsoft Terminal Services client and/or Citrix ICA client.
