Summary

In this chapter, you learned how to create 3D surfaces based on existing geometry in your model by using a variety of 3D surfacing commands. Adjusting the SURFTAB1 and SURFTAB2 system variables controls the resolution of these surfaces. You also discovered how you can edit surfaces by using PEDIT. The 3DMESH and PFACE commands are used primarily by outside programs that provide the high amount of input required by these commands.

In the next chapter, you explore how to use AutoCAD’s solid modeling commands to create many types of 3D solid objects that would be difficult, if not impossible, to create by using the surfacing commands covered in this chapter.
