Summary

Understanding the orientation of AutoCAD’s 3D axes is the first step toward working comfortably in 3D space. The UCS command sets the orientation of the user coordinate system in three-dimensional space. Understanding and using multiple viewports allows you to easily orient yourself in 3D space, and provides an easy means for switching views of your model. AutoCAD 2002’s 3DORBIT command lets you move around and view a shaded model in real-time. Together these 3D tools make working in 3D space more efficient.
