Working with Existing Linetypes
For many years AutoCAD has provided linetypes, which allow you to create drawings whose objects are more easily discernable. A linetype is a series of dashes and/or dots that have a specified spacing that is then applied to the object. By assigning different linetypes, you make identical objects such as lines and polylines stand out as unique entities in your drawing. Linetypes are one of the most useful tools in AutoCAD for getting your drawing’s meaning across to viewers.
