DesignCenter

AutoCAD 2000 introduced a powerful new feature called AutoCAD DesignCenter (ADC). One of its capabilities enables you to easily locate and insert blocks, using the Find feature. Figure A.21 displays a sample window of the DesignCenter. By entering a block’s name or description, ADC will search all drawing files in the specified folders for blocks matching the description. Then, icons of the blocks are displayed, along with detailed descriptions. ADC also allows you to drag and drop blocks into a drawing, and if the block has drawing units associated with it, AutoCAD automatically scales the block based on the current drawing’s units.
