Serviced Components
At the beginning of this chapter, another kind of component was mentioned—the serviced component. The serviced component is used to integrate with existing COM+ Service. This provides the capability for .NET components to be used in COM+ transactions and also by any COM+ capable tool.
A serviced component is a component managed by Windows Component Services (COM+). This enables a component to share the same context as other managed components and to take part in transactions that take place in this context. This is run-of-the-mill for a regular COM+ component.
