Summary

This chapter introduced the application configuration system of ASP.NET. You have seen how easy it is to create and use your own configuration settings as well as get information on the majority of configuration settings for web applications provided by ASP.NET.

The web.config configuration file is mentioned in various places throughout the rest of this book, and the settings are revisited and are explained in more detail. Also, the application in Chapter 17 uses a couple of web.config files in its operation.
