A Complete Maturity Model

As discussed in Chapter 6, a maturity model is a framework that helps companies in three ways:

1. Understanding how deployments typically evolve

2. Evaluating the current status of a deployment

3. Setting targets for improvement

A typical maturity model describes various components of a deployment and different levels of success or maturity for each component. Our model includes the five components that have the biggest influence over the future of a deployment:
