Introduction

The transition to a single secure enterprise network is forcing the DON to quickly modernize many legacy systems. FAMs and CDAs face a large and expensive task to modernize aged applications so that they will function within NMCI. Furthermore, applications that cannot run within NMCI are subject to quarantine restrictions which severely limit their usefulness in the Navy's desktops work environment.
