The EATMS Ada to Java modernization project was an exceptionally sophisticated and highly disciplined application of automated transformation and semi-automated refactoring against a high-performance, mission-critical software application. Key to the success of the EATMS modernization project was the tuning of the software technical and management processes to achieve a metrics-guided modernization process that maximized the utilization of skills and technology from all members of the team.
