7.5. Conclusion

Analytical modeling is a cost-effective method for examining the behavior of various systems. To be useful, these models should be realistic and reflect important system characteristics such as failure, reconfiguration, recovery, fault tolerance, graceful degradation, and repair. The advances in the development of different model types and solution techniques from a high-level description enable large and realistic models to be developed and studied effectively.
