Record Identifier (RID) Definition

Each RA consists of a RID plus the attribute content itself. Figure 33-1 on page 936 illustrates the two forms an RA may take. All RAs include the General RID that is used to identify the record. The General RID consists of the following components:

  • LID. This is the base LID address assigned to the CA port or to the switch management port by the SM.

  • Port Number. This is only applicable to a switch and identifies the switch port to which the attribute applies.

  • Enumeration. This value is only applicable when a number of RAs of this type apply to the specified port. An example would be the GUIDInfoRecord. Each of these records can hold up to eight GUIDs assigned to a port. If a port had more than eight GUIDs assigned ...
