Reliable Multi-Packet Transaction Protocol

Introduction

SA MAD transfers consist of multiple packets under the following circumstances:

  • A SubnAdmGetTable() operation may result in the return of a series of Subn AdmGetTableResp() response MADs.

  • A SubnAdmGetBulk() operations results in the return of the entire SA database (or, if a non-zero SA_Key issued, a subset thereof). The database is returned in a series of SubnAdmGetBulkResp() response MADs.

  • A SubnAdmConfig() operation may consists of a series of SubnAdmConfig() request MADs containing the records to be added, deleted, or edited.

In all three cases, both the SA and the requester will want to be sure that all of the MADs in the multiple-MAD sequence are received correctly. The SA MAD transfer ...
