Performance Counters
The Physical Layer implements three performance counters. They are implemented as attributes accessible by the Performance Manager using GMPs:
16-bit SymbolErrorCounter. Counts the total number of symbol errors detected on one or more lanes.
8-bit LinkErrorRecoveryCounter. Counts the total number of times the training state machine has successfully completed the automatic link error recovery process.
8-bit LinkDownedCounter. Counts the total number of times the training state machine has failed the link error recovery process and downed the link.
