If you click on a topic with a + sign on the left, general information about this topic is displayed on the right side. If you click on the + sign, subtopics are shown.

Some configuration options that could be relevant to change:

  • Session Window > Submitting Commands and choose Enable for Command Language. Doing so, the Minitab prompt (symbol: MTB>) appears and instructions can be entered directly in the session window. Additionally, the instructions that are used through the menus are automatically displayed on the session window, which is very useful to write macros. More information on how to use this feature can be found at the book's website.
  • The light brown background with a thin black border, appearing by default in Minitab graphs, may not be appropriate for plots in a document or in a report. Both the background and the border can be removed from Graphics > Regions > Graph. In Fill Pattern Type, choose N inside the box (None) and in Borders and Fill Lines: Type, choose None.
  • It can be annoying that every time a graph is closed, Minitab asks if it should be saved. This can be disabled from Graphs > Graph Management. In Prompt to Save a Graph Before Closing, select Never.
