Abstract

In today’s complex manufacturing environment, it is tough to imagine managing without computer systems and software. A manufacturing execution system (MES) consists of the computer systems used to manage production and daily operations within a process facility, above the level of automatic control. MES delivers information that enables the optimization of production activities from order launch to finished goods. An MES guides, initiates, responds to, and reports on plant activities as they occur, based on accurate current data.
