Abstract

Alarms are critical functionality of the industrial automation for operational, safety, and environmental reasons. However, alarms are to be properly engineered to derive the intended benefits. Lack of proper engineering in the alarms leads to catastrophic failures, and hence many of the advanced alarms functionalities have been brought into the market place.
