Abstract

This chapter covers the programmable logic controllers, the critical subsystems, and the architecture. Each of these subsystems was detailed with suitable examples and the peripheral systems that will be connected to the PLC in the design of the automation systems. The programming concepts of the PLCs were detailed with various options and techniques to realize the automation. Some of the engineering aspects of the PLC in the design, implementation, installation, and commissioning are detailed.
