The Predix Functions service lets you deploy blocks of code to the Predix cloud that can be configured to trigger or respond to events. A code block can be anything from an analytic function to a transformation or a model evaluation.
The code block takes the event information as input, and performs predefined actions in response to those events. Functions can be written in many different languages, depending on the needs of the problem domain and the skill set of the function author.
