Religion, secularism and communalism are inextricably linked to each other. They have acquired prominence on the Indian scene since colonial times. As many novel political and social forces have unleashed themselves in the past few decades, it has achieved new significance in recent times. There are many views regarding what should constitute the nature and relationship between religion and politics.
