The Clean DevelopmentMechanism: Issues and Options

THIS CHAPTER STUDIES SOME OF THE DESIGN ISSUES related to the clean development mechanism (CDM) and the conceptually related notion of joint implementation (JI), and illustrates CDM options using the Indian cement sector. In doing so, as is common to most of the studies dealing with practical problems, we use a few important principles (instead of full-blown models themselves) from the theoretical literature to make our points.
