Activity categorization

Activity categorization or strategic activity categorization is a framework that allows organizations to link the micro activity people do to the macro strategic goals of an organization. The four categories are core, support, discretionary and noise.

Business process

A business process is a sequenced list of functional activities an organization wishes to undertake in order to implement its business strategy. It is often presented in the format of a process map (see Figure 3.2 on page 67) or a catalogue of functional activities to be undertaken.
