Finally, let's go on to our third option, Source. As I have already mentioned, all Splunk dashboards are defined by XML. If you don't have experience with XML, you can create, edit, and maintain dashboards using the dashboard editor (similar to what we've been doing with our examples). However, by using XML, Splunk gives us the ability to create dashboards as complex and robust as we need them to be.
