Chapter 29. Process Monitors and Managers

In the previous chapter, you saw that every transaction has a transaction coordinator—a participant whose job it is to manage the performance of activities by the transaction participants. This transaction coordinator is a specialized example of a process manager, a participant that coordinates the execution of activities. Generally, the manager also monitors the execution of the activities as well, determining whether they are executing as directed.
