A Place in History

You may not have realized it, but you are a pioneer at the vanguard of the second century of change that’s sweeping business and training. In the beginning of the 20th century, goods were scarce. Businesses were known by what they made. A business was a shoe company or a car company or a training company. Efficiency was the road to success. You prospered by making shoes better than the competition did. If your company sold more, you achieved economies of scale, and you sold more still. Time-and-motion experts lauded the “one best way” to do things. This pursuit of efficiency became known as the manufacturing mindset. It was the road to profit. Those were the days when the world moved slowly. Little changed quickly.
