Mission

A mission statement is an extension of the vision statement. Once you decide what you want the future to look like, in other words, the vision statement, you need to describe why you want it to be that way. The mission statement, however, does more than describe. It reflects and examines the project’s purpose, and it expresses its sense of value. Perhaps most important, it inspires us to stand out, and it guides our leaders. In addition, the process of creating the mission provides an opportunity to include more players in the ownership of and commitment to the project.
