Karl Petersen (technical reviewer, co-author Appendix B) lives with his wife, Joan, and a Collie on Bainbridge Island, Washington, a 30-minute ferry ride from Seattle. A break between jobs (including a stint in the Peace Corps and a career in insurance) gave Karl the chance to explore the first Macs, and he never looked back. He also writes software.
