SURFACING YOUR COLLECTIVE IMMUNITY TO CHANGE

ANUMBER OF YEARS AGO, when we were first experimenting with the idea of collective immunity, we were part of a faculty running a two-week summer institute at Harvard for intact public school leadership teams. We had invited superintendents to come with their administrative teams, typically their central office colleagues and school principals. There were around fifteen teams and over a hundred people in the program. The curriculum had been put together by several collaborating faculty and, as often occurs in these situations, it was a jam-packed affair.
