INTRODUCTION

Anyone who has ever tried to make something has experienced both the frustration and the rewards that go hand in hand with the process: the elusive nature of creativity, the search for the muse, the gut-wrenching disappointment when things don’t go as planned, and the moment when vision and execution coalesce into a magnificent, finished piece. I found photography in my early years at Bard College at Simon’s Rock. Photography gave me a voice and outlet for expression. The artwork born of that journey shaped my identity and my life.
