Your attitude and enthusiasm for the work you are creating will go a long way toward securing the resources you need and enlisting help from others. In addition to sharing the mood board and concept for a particular shoot, I typically include a link to my website or bring my portfolio, either as images on a handheld device or a physical promotional piece, to give a clear example of my work. I have found this very helpful in gaining access to resources, especially when working on personal projects for which there is a limited or nonexistent budget.
