MOTIVATION

On the TED Talk stage, Tony Robbins described his beliefs regarding human motivation and the hidden forces behind internal drive and performance. He defined two invisible forces that drive our decision-making process. The first is the filter through which we view the world that shapes our opinions. The second is a set of six universal human needs, organized into two areas:

Needs of the PERSONALITY:

SECURITY. The certainty that we can avoid pain and, at minimum, have our basic needs met with a safe home, food, and water.

VARIETY. Contradicting security somewhat, we also need some uncertainty so we are not bored out of our minds.

SIGNIFICANCE. All people need to feel important, special, and unique.
