While the paths in Illustrator are the main way to create objects, the Pen and Pencil tools are not the only tools that let you create artwork. Brushes extend your drawing capabilities by giving you the option to stylize your artwork paths. Brushes can be applied using the Paintbrush tool or by applying the brush styles to an existing path. There are many brush styles in Illustrator. In this chapter we will continue to learn more about brushes and painting and how to use them in creating artwork. We will learn how to apply brushes to paths, different brushes and their options, and managing brushes through the Brushes panel.
