  • Goggles

  • Forceps

  • Slides (flat) and coverslips

  • Eosin Y

  • Gram’s iodine

  • Hucker’s crystal violet

  • Methylene blue

  • Safranin O

  • Sudan III

Materials You Provide

  • Gloves

  • Elodea leaf

  • Microscope

  • Onion, raw

  • Prepared slides (see Note)

  • Water, distilled
