  • Iodine crystals

  • Iodine/glycerol reagent

  • Magnifier

  • Pipettes

  • Slides, flat

Materials you Provide

  • Gloves

  • Acetone

  • Camera (optional)

  • Chlorine laundry bleach

  • Cotton swabs

  • Ethanol

  • Ink remover (optional)

  • Iodine fuming chamber (from Chapter 19)

  • Microscope

  • Pencil

  • Scanner and software (optional)

  • Scissors

  • Ultraviolet (UV) light source (optional)

  • Xylene (or toluene, paint thinner, etc.)

  • Specimens, paper, white

  • Specimen, pen, erasable ink
