  • Beaker, 250 mL

  • Cylinder, graduated, 100 mL

  • Coverslips

  • Forceps

  • Hydrochloric acid, 6 M

  • Magnifier

  • Pipettes

  • Slides, deep-cavity

  • Slides, flat

  • Sodium dithionite

  • Spatula

  • Stirring rod

  • Test tubes

  • Test tube clamp

  • TIS #1 dye

  • TIS #3A dye

  • Specimens: Fabrics A, B, C, D, and E

  • Specimen: TFI Multifiber Fabric #43

Materials you Provide

  • Gloves

  • Ammonia, household (clear, non-sudsy)

  • Bleach, chlorine laundry

  • Burner, butane lighter, or other flame source

  • Dishwashing detergent (Dawn or similar)
