Access Request, Approval, and Provisioning

In this chapter, we will review the processes and technologies associated with granting and removing identities and their associated access. For our purposes, we will refer to this as the request, approve, and provision (RAP) process. The process typically includes workflow and management processes designed to enable smooth processing of user identity and access requests. The typical process provides a method for a user, manager, or other delegate to request access to a particular type of information.
